The arts and craftsmanship

The Etruscan art was born from, the exigencies of every day life and constantly remains anchored to this type of context. From one side remains linked the social structure and also the religious conception and therefore the funeral practices. The most important evidence, in fact comes from the remains of the sanctuary or from the necropolis, there is less evidence which comes from the remains of the central habitat, giving us the impression of a manual character to art, also if the boundary between art and craftsmanship is never precise. Certainly you could not speak of autonomy happening, that is art produced for the simple taste of art itself, but always of a final production, with a precise, practical goal, even if it is only ritual.

The strong influence received in the centuries by the Greek art, gives therefore the question of determine if it could speak of a artistically happening owing to or if we must always conducted in attempts or more or less results of coping stiles of other artists. However the certain trend for being accepted without a shadow of a doubt, could be considered mainly of nature formal and external. Especially decorated and very careful in the particulars, often having dramatic effects. The Etruscan art knew, however in finding its own way, also in front of Greek models, often re-elaborating in an original character.
