The Lionesses Tomb

Far wall of the Lionesses Tomb

The Lionesses Tomb (Tomba delle Leonesse) dates from about 530 B.C. On the far wall, the pediment represents two lionesses from which the sepulchre takes its name. Beneath are represented musicians and dancers that cheer the banquet, represented on the lateral walls, with two male couples spread out on the ground, on cushions.
